    hi,
i have questions about this chip:http://www.allegromicro.com/en/Products/Part_Numbers/6800/6800.pdf

i'm thinking of getting the 24 pin version.

    here are the questions:

-can i put put the data pins of a parallel port in the inputs to controle it?
-what do i do to the strobe?
-can i put some of these relays into the outputs?

    thanx in advance!

    - yes
    - to strobe output of parallel port (probably)
    - yes, with a diode across the coil to protect them from inductive spikes.

Note that these SINK current, so the relay needs to be connected between Vcc and the output, and that the relay will be turned on when the output of the parallel port is low.

Depending on how you program the parallel port, you'll need to take control of the strobe output to transfer the output to the latch.
