    Hi guys,

I am looking to use a relay to drive a 240VAC 1200W motor. I understand I should be using some kind of surge suppression to protect the relay contacts. Can someone please suggest what kind of surge suppression I should be using?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ben.

I'd step up to a motor starter with a motor that big.

If a Definite Purpose type contactor is used, they don't need contact suppression, as used in HVAC etc.
