Regulator circuit needed

    hi there

    im just taking a intrest in electronics im after a circuit using the 78s12cv regulator

    i have found a circuit on the net what do you think about it

    Yes, that's a standard setup, but C2 should be 0.33uF and C4 is not absolutely neccessary - according to the datasheet.
    T1 must be rated at least 12V & 2.8A (34VA) and C1 must be rated at least 25V, if that was your next question.

    use 1N4007 diodes ,its better!

    If you are going to add big capacitor on the output put a diode across the regulator
