Regarding water pump automation

    Hi everybody !

    I want to design automatic water pump controller.
    So please help me with circuit diagram and designing.

    Water pump controller should control the water pump as follow
    Basically it should have two modes of operations
    1. Manual
    2.automatic

    In automatic mode
    1. it should start the pump whenever there is power supply on
    2. It should stop the pump when there fault in power supply
    3. It should again start the pump when the power supply is ok
    4. It should stop the pump when ever there is dry run of pump.
    5 It should again start the pump when pump gets filled with water.

    If this condition is met, then the other 4 conditions are moot.

    I, on the other-hand, am far more interested in a pump that does NOT stop when the power supply faults ;-)

    I think what you mean is that you want the pump to respond based on the state of various sensors. You need to define the various conditions that need to be "sensed" and the appropriate response for each condition, then select appropriate sensors for each task. Once you have this information it will be easier to help with how you might achieve a "circuit". Information that will be important in actualizing a design will include the pump voltage and current requirements (eg: 12Vdc, 1A || 120Vac 10A || 277V 3 Phase 200hp etc) Readily available supply voltages....(ie is there an existing 5Vdc/12Vdc/24Vdc supply that can be used for the control circuit, or will one need to be added to the design, and if so what is the source voltage...) Weather resistance...(ie will the circuit be exposed to rain/ice/sunlight....will the ambient temperature be higher than ~50C etc).

    The only "real" conditions I see in your list are #4...dry pump and #5 "filled".....to that end, the typical way this is handled is with "float switches" or "pressure switches', and implementing float switches and pressure switches is not typically very complicated....you either switch the pump on/off with the switch itself or the switch controls a relay, H-Bridge or other driver that turns the pump on/off. No matter how many sensors are involved, the pump only has two possible states: 1) ON 2) OFF...So if you design it such that all of the conditions must be "true" in order for the pump to run then it is a simple "series connection" of SPST switches where any one of the switches being in the "off" position disables the pump....

    it should start the pump and then it should switch off it is dry run
    And it will not start if there is power supply fault

    Your request is missing a lot of basic information.

    What is the pump voltage? AC or DC? How many amps or watts?

    How do you detect when there is water and when there isn't?

    What controls do you want? Just an automatic/manual switch? Anything else?

    What is your level of experience with electronics in general?

    Do you have experience with microcontrollers? Or do you want the timing to be done without a microcontroller?

    How do you plan to build this controller?

    What ideas have you had so far?

    Describe your project in much more detail. How is the pump to be used? What is the purpose of the whole project?

    Tell us as much as you can. This will help us to help you, and avoid wasting time.
