reading a digital meter

I could find nothing on this at Southern California Edison's web site.
Yesterday we had a digital, time-of-use recording meter installed. It
cycles through 4 different readings:

"01", which I believe shows a running total of kwh we have drawn from the grid,

"02", which has been reading "2.78 kw" for the past several hours (not
kwh, but kw)

"04", which is a mystery to me, and always reads "0000" with "240" in
very small print to the right,

"71", which I believe shows a running total of the number kwh our solar
grid has sent back to the grid.

My question is about the "02" reading. It doesn't change very much
(not at all today), and it couldn't be showing our current load because
our current load this morning would be about 500w--yet the meter is
saying 2.78 kw. Does anyone here know whether "02" is giving an
"average load" or perhaps a "peak load"?

I neglected to include information on the type of meter: The label says
it is an AXRS4, and it is programmed as a "recorder".
