What makes you "sure" it's a capacitor problem? ? Which caps have you
tested??? ..... and what equipment do you have to test them with?
........ and a little more technically detailed description would be much
more helpful that "has a bunch of different shape lines all over the screen"
.......
The more technical information, visual observations, meter readings,
component test results, etc that you can provide will undoubtedly reap
better suggestions coming back your way.
The way an original post is worded, and the way that the poster poses a
question and describes technical problems gives the regular newsgroup
contributors a "calibration" of your electronics knowledge and repair
experience..... and a hint of what test equipment you have and know how to
use....... so, if you desire specific technical repair suggestions you
will need to post again, this time cranking up the technical level and
giving more information.... and more detailed technical information.....
............otherwise, it might be safer for you and better for your
television if you were to take it to a service shop for a proper and safe
repair.. or at the very least you should obtain a repair cost estimate so
you can make an intelligent repair decision with facts instead of internet
guesses.
