Have a RCA Model P52830BL (Chassis PTK195 BB) projection tv that is
attempting to power up but cannot. When you press the power button
normally, you can hear the unit through the speakers cycle about four
times to attempt to power up. The standby power supplies are there after
the smps transformer. B+ line is 162.3 volts. The audio feed is 34.69
volts.
The 5 and 12 volt regulator feed is 18.04 volts. When the power button
is pressed, these lines drop (on DMM, B+ drops from 162 to 121 on each
cycle). After cycling, these lines return to their standby values.
Disconnecting the flyback high voltage anode to the HV splitter had no
effect. The standby test point value for TP14601 (16v) is 14.91 volts.
The standby test point value for TP14602 (5v) is 5.25 volts. I have
already resoldered the horizontal drive section. I may suspect a weak
smps transistor Q14101. Please help. Ron.

Disconnect the inductor that supplies B+ to the flyback/HOT, sorry, don't
remember the loc# but it is between the flyback and power supply physically.
If the unit comes on & stays on then replace the flyback and HOT. You may
also have a bad HV splitter.

May want to try and disconnect the hv block first and see if the chassis
comes up and runs, then you may just need the hv block rather that the lopt
and hot.
