RCA F36669 Has Sound, Picture Only Sometimes Works

Set was completely dead, replaced voltage regulator and powered it up sound
works but no picture, after 5 minutes picture came up, worked for two days
and is now only working after the set has been in the on position for
several hours (it seems to be taking longer and longer) this isnt just the
abscence of a picture but the abscence of voltage to the back of the crt
and the "coil" or whatever the correct term is. im not sure but this set
appears to have a split type of power supply. with two vr's? one for low
voltage audio and tuner components and one for high voltage crt components
(this would probably explain why the sound is always working). the
customer says before the set went dead the last time she had to wait for a
picture as well. if anybody can help i would greatly appreciate it

Why dont you remove the choke just in front of the HOT
clean the holes and the choke wires then reinstall.
That should fix you up ...99% of the time.
