Anyone ever made one! just bought a Rat Zapper for $100nz it worked fine for the first 2 hits but now just gives them a buzz? cant find anything on the net about homemade ones, would it be difficult to make & how many amps or volts would it take to do the job?

    Nice idea

That looks very interesting Olivier i think that kind of set up would definitely do the job & i think it would be rather cheep to put together too,Would just have to add a couple of metal plates at the end? i may just have a go at that! thanks for your input Olivier.

    Hi Tezza1,

I suggest to made a floor grid with two formed rigid wires. On my setup I use a 220µH toroid coil and I connect the fet gate to the NE555 output via a small resistor.

Hi olivier: would two formed rigid wires deliver more of the voltage directly to the rat rather than it being dispersed through the two metal plates & lost? :) Tezza

My 10 character answer would be "No".

    Hi Tezza1,

I forget you already have a rat zapper, so just keep all the "mechanical" stuff and the plates as it.
