Radio delay to sync with TV video

This is not very practical.

Instead, modulate a laser diode and run the laser light through fiber
optic cable. The resulting 5 billion or so feet of fiber will be much more
manageable than the corresponding coax delay line.

You might still need a couple of repeaters.

Serious error.

Anybody have a simple circut to do this?
Bounce the HDTV signal off the moon. Move moon for best sound.

You will need a doppler compensator since the relative velocities of
the earth and moon vary from about +900 mph at moonrise to -900 mph at
moonset (from http://www.infoage.org/diamof.html)

and it wont work when the moon is on the wrong side of the earth!

The hardware is trivial, but the software is not a beginners project.

I found it was surprisingly simple under Linux. I was just recently
tinkering with audio capturing/playback. If you can read/write a file
handle in C, then capturing and playing back audio is a piece of cake.
Even setting the sample rate, etc. is dead simple.

Picky, picky. Mere technical details such as I leave to my clients.
You have this plane flying at 900 miles per hour, trivial, really ...

IMD, this was done [a few seconds of audio delay]
with two tape recorders and a waste basket to contain the delay
loop. Won't work with some tape recorders, they need tape tension
on the gozinta and gozouta. Ask an old theatre or broadcast
sound man for help.

These days: TIVO, tape the radio and the TV, play back after
the game. Maybe a computer and a sound card could do it?

I read in sci.electronics.design that [email protected] wrote (in
So I want to delay a radio broadcast by 4-5 seconds.

Watch from a mile away, with the volume control at 11, and view the
picture through binoculars. (;-)

hmm, how about a very long hosepipe, and stethascope(SP?) arrangement,
or a Cooper Time Cube, with suitable mods?
