Recently there's been a new kind of scopes being introduced, which are essentially data acquisition devices that use other hardware (tablet/phone/PC) to display and allow you to interact with the data.

I'm considering to invest in one of these since it would come in handy every now and again (and it's good to be able to measure even if things do work), but I don't know really where to place my bets.

I was hoping to gather some input and opinions on the devices here.

It's about the following 3 projects
    - Red Pitaya
    - smartscope
    - DSLogic

I kind of like the smartscope since it's a lot cheaper than the Red Pitaya, and it looks more finished. The DSLogic doesn't look bad either regarding its price, but it looks more like a mashup than a finished product with all the separate modules. But I suppose these impressions shouldn't really be the deciding factors, yet rather the tech specs.

Where would you say the value and reliability is better?
