I'd like to make some simple changes to my home alarm.
First, how do I change the entry/exit timers?
Second, supposedly my system sent an alarm (the monitoring station said
it send an "unknown code") while it was disarmed, and without any
windows or doors being opened while it was disarmed. I'd like to get
any information the system logged so I can see if it really did send
anything. How would I do that?

Thanks, Rick DeBay

You would need the installer's code to change the time delays.
You would need an LCD keypad to view the event memory.
You probably don't have either one of thsoe things.
You cannot use an ICON keypad to view the event memory.
There's lots of things that could be reported while the system is
disarmed:
power failure and/or restore
low battery and/or restore
system test or 24 hour test
some other system fault and/or restore
maybe a keypad button that is not supposed to be active

Could be most anything at all.

I would but I don't want to pay for something so simple.

Who "misinstalled" the battery, ADT?
BTW, "unknown code" may be what they said they got, but ask for the actual
code from the receiver. Find out what format your panel uses, and it should
be fairly simple to find out what happened.

I guess I'm SOL and will have to call ADT. They do owe me one as they
only called one of the numbers on the call list for the alarm, but call
all four numbers every weekend now to tell me that a zone hasn't reset.
The code ADT says the got was "unknown code." Seems strange that they'd
call the cops when the system sent garbage. A similar thing happened
last year when a low voltage situation (misinstalled battery) send an
invalid code and they decided to call the fire department!

Thanks, Rick

Thats rather odd that they got the unknown code, sounds like someone
programmed the thing for pulse format

It's a good idea to call the central station and tell them you want to put
the system on test for an hour or so when you are going to do any work on it
such as changing batteries. Also you might request that they call to verify
alarm before dispatching on any 'unknown code'
