Programming a Sony Walkman

I have a Sony SRF-HM20 headset radio, but no documents.

The thing works, but all my efforts to program presets (it has 10) have
failed.

Some of my efforts have gotten it into a state where the frequency
readout is flashing, and the thing does not respond to any buttons -- it
won't even turn off. After a while, it recovers.

What's the procedure for presets?

thanks, Isaac

This from my WM-FX277 instructions but hopefully similar to yours...

Manual preset: select AM or FM, press Enter, while the display flashes
tune the desired station (+/-) and then select the preset number (+/-),
then press Enter again to save it.

Auto preset: am/fm, hold Enter down for more than 3 seconds, the display
will flash and scanning begins at lowest frequency pausing for 3 seconds
at each station found, if you wish to save that station press Enter
once, then scanning resumes. Press Enter for each station you want saved
to preset as scanning proceeds until finished.
