I am going to start A new project and for the first time will be using LEDs .I plan on using up to 30 pre wired 3mm and 5mm supper bright leds and fiber optics with A 9V 2A power supply . Is this power supply sufficient to power these leds? With all the garbage for sale on the internet which company makes the best power supplies for this application . Ed

    Hi Edward,
What is the forward voltage of the LEDs?
What is the forward current of the LEDs?
Are they all the same colour?

Have a good read of this resource HERE

I do not know as they are pre wired with the resister installed and shrink wrapped . I will be buying them from Amazon and they do not list the specs and some are different colors mostly white blue and some red . I will be using them with fiber optics so I only need aprox. 10 leds not 30 .

They will be o.1w for the 3mm and o.5w for the 5mm

    Hehehe,
How do you expect to use any kind of psu without knowing anything about them?
I suggest you buy them from somewhere that gives all the specs!

I've yet to see a 5mm not handle 20ma as base value, i've ran some on 40ma thinking i used 200ohm when infact it was not lol ... worked great until summer showed up
