    Hi Guys,

I'm working on a project where I need to make a basic tape player. I'm running into some problems when it comes to amplifying the signal from the tape head, its currently going straight into a 1w amp which obviously only manages achieves a very quite volume. To raise this would it be a case of getting a more powerful amp, or would a 1w amp be sufficient when a pre-amp is involved? (like this http://www.maplin.co.uk/k1803-universal-monopre-amplifier-2921)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

thanks, but that doesn't answer my question and neither does the link you posted, type anything into google and it will come up with 1000's of results.

I gave you a link to a specific preamp circuit designed for a tape head ... what else do you want !! ???
its what you need to make your circuit work properly
