Power Amp Input Level

Hi,

I have a Dynaco 410 power amp that I just fixed. Does anyone have a
suggestion as to how to hook this to an integrated amplifier that
doesn't have a "preamp out".

I figure to attenuate the "speaker B" outputs so that the amplifier
can still drive the "A" speakers and I can get volume controlled input
for the power amp and a second set of speakers. Does anyone know what
my target voltage level is? I'm not sure what to pump into the power
amp.

I have the specs on the Dynaco, but it doesn't give much info on the
input sensitivity.

Thanks in Advance!

Regards,
Jim

Jim:
A typical "line" input of about 1 v pp should drive the amp to full output.
Set your integrated amp to an acceptable volume out of your speakers then
construct a simple attenuator (one for each channel) with a pot.... 5K to
10K ..... not critical ...... and adjust for the level you want out of
your Dynaco.

Does the integrated amp have a tape, or rec out?
That's a line out if it does

YES..... and if the integrated amp does have a tape out or record out it
certainly is a "line out" BUT the level is fixed (full volume) and not
varied by the integrated amp's volume control.

Does the intergrated amp have a headphone output?
Perhaps you can rig a cable using that.
