Porting I2c to CAN bus

I have a master card that sends data to an I2C bus with I2C slaves on. How
easy would it be to change the bus to CAN bus? How much would I have to
modify the hardware and software?

Sorry, not easy at all.
The hardware is not the same in any way.
The software is also totaly different.
If you want a CAN system, do it right from the begining.
