I was thinking about building a project from an old copy of Television
magazine (March 1999) & (April 1999) since i have most of the
components needed. The project in question is an esr meter design by
    Alan Willcox..UK.

Recently whilst browsing the net i came across a circuit from the late
Poptronics magazine US. for another esr design but not the full
article only the cct with errors being pointed out regarding incorrect
component values a red circle drawn around the culprits and the
correct values being given. Can anyone who built this Poptronics
design comment on it's performance in use as i would like to build
this tester also if i can manage to get a copy of the article dated
(June 2001). if someone has a scan of this article/circuit i would be
    gratefull to have it,

The UK version uses two 9v batteries in series, whilst the US version
uses only one 9v battery which appeals to me,

The Alan Wilcox design was upgraded to MkII in UK magazine Television
(now defunct) back in Dec 2004 and Jan 2005 so that it used a single
9V battery. It also included a low ohms audible indicator so that you
didn't need to keep an eye on the meter. I have the articles and other
pictures in JPG format as sent to me by Alan Wilcox. I built the unit
    and it works well.

It is essentially the same as this one:

Very easy and cheap to build, and it does a good job.

Hi, i was surprised to learn from you that Alan Wilcox did indeed
continue this project, I stopped buying the TV magazine IN 2000 after
collecting them since 1972 . have I most of the parts req'd for his
earlier prototype and would like to build this more recent one.

Would you be willing to send to me the pictures/ articles etc in jpg
format i would be most gratefull .
