Polarity diagrams:

    If the diagram has - left with a line to the circle in the center, and the dot in the "C" goes to the right to +. If the diagram is flipped over so the + is on the left but still lined to the "C". Is the polarity still the same? I'm looking to replace a power cord for my laptop, and as you can tell from my question, electronics is not my first love. Thanks in advance.

    Thank you so much. Logic would dictate tip positive wouldn't depend on the direction it goes. But my experience with electronics is that sometimes logic doesn't seem to count for much. I didn't want to go to the hassle of buying a charger just to have to send it back. You've been a great help.

    In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice they aren't :D
