any fuses would be a good place to start :)

If you have some GOOD technical ability then with a multimeter you would be able to check for some of the low voltage rails and see if they are correct.

the causes of the popping sound could be many... fuses, capacitors, line output transformer, horizontal drive transistor....

Thanks Dave I have a fuse gone.I will get a new on and try it.

well before you replace it you need to contemplate as to why the fuse blew ?

possibilities
1) a fault in the equip
2) a power surge down the mains power line

with 1) ... a replacement will just blow straight away (make sure you buy more than 1 replacement fuse !!
with 2) ... chances are replacing the fuse will have the unit working again.

to find a hint that its an equip fault.... before you replace the fuse measure with your multimeter on Ohms between the fuse socket terminals and ground (chassis) or the negative rail for that power rail.... anything less than ~ 500- 1000 Ohms would indicate a probable fault.

MAKE SURE THE MAINS POWER IS UNPLUGGED BEFORE YOU DO THAT TEST
