    Hi,

I am having some trouble with a plasma speaker that I have built based on this instructable:http://www.instructables.com/id/A-reliable-plasma-speaker/ I got it all breadboarded a few days ago, but haven't been able to get it working, When I plug it in, and try to play music through it, the GDT (Gate Drive Transformer) starts buzzing (sort of in tune to the music). BUT, that is not supposed to be happening, the flyback transformer is what is supposed to be playing the music (and creating a spark) but it isn't doing anything.

I noticed in the instructions: http://www.instructables.com/id/A-reliable-plasma-speaker/step6/Phasing-the-GDT/ That It says to "phase" the transformer, I am not sure if I did this correctly, I simply followed the image that can be forund in the link I showed above.

The wire I used was stranded wire from a telephone cable, should I have used magnet wire???

Another thing that could be causing the issue is the windings around the flyback, I started by using some stranded 18 gauge wire, but have since swapped that out for some 24 gauge magnet wire. Was this a good Idea, or could that be causing some problems.

    Thanks,
    Josh :)
