Just wondering any audio gurus can shed some light between these two
players:
Both use the MOSFET chipset, so I'd suppose both would sound reasonably
similar, though I have heard Sony produces crap car audio stuff. Both are
relatively similar in price, $163 for the Pioneer and $169 for teh Sony
(though this comes with the remote). Is this Pioneer any good stacked
against the Sony?
The specs for both are pretty similar with almost identical info, except
Sony produces 1.3watts more for RMS (23.2 vs. 22 for pioneer) and produces
greater SR Ratio of 120dB vs Pioneer's 94dB (heard the higher dB the
better).
The thing that confuses me is that I have shopped around and seen both
players fluctuate from $250 to as low was $163. When I asked JB, they told
me to go for the Sony but at Hi Fi Supermarket, they told me to go for the
Pioneer (of course, both these places had the lower priced one and advised
me to go for that one....I'm sus as them trying to clear slow moving stock).
