PIC18F and PIC18C

this might sound like a silly question, but what is the difference between a PIC18C542 and a PIC18F542, I know PIC18F is a more recent flash version of the PIC18, but practical wise, does it make any difference?

Reading the datasheets for the two parts on Microchip's website should give you the answer.
