PIC Trainer?

Need to learn PIC hardware and software. Looking for suggestion for
complete training package (board, software and training instructions).

Anything available that can be programmed in Forth, Basic and
Assembler?

Thanks - Rich

Don't come with much software, but you can download
all you need.
www.microchip.com and get mplab and lots of docs.
Mplab contains the assembler for the pics.

Jal - just another language is a free compiler for pics.
Syntax is a bit like pascal. Easy to learn.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/jal/
Good and active user group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jallist/

Don't know about basic for pics.

Other boards for pics

If you need a pic programmer the usb programmers from kitsrus.com are easy
to use
either k149 or k150 (make sure to get the zif socket)

picforth
http://www.rfc1149.net/devel/picforth
tutorial for it http://tutor.al-williams.com/picforth1.htm
http://tutor.al-williams.com/ some other good intro to pic tutorials

Atmel Avr's have a gcc port available if you want to use c.
see www.avrfreaks.

Bascom lite is a basic for the avr's.

There are forths available for most micros.

While I may be an exception, I've had ZERO luck getting anything from
these people. After my order went unfilled for 2 months, I asked about
the status.. No response, but I did notice my order and 'account' no
longer exists.. After the 3rd email I gave up, they don't want my
business apparently.

This is a shame, as they had great prices on components.. and their
development boards look great, on the web page at least since ive not
actually been able to touch one...

Though, they didnt charge my card.. so at least i wasnt ripped off..
But i had hoped to business with them.
