I want to buy a C compiler for C development. What is avaliable and
which is is the best one. where can I get more information on this matter?

I had some development with CCS PICC compiler but I can port them into a new
enviroment if there is a better development environment.

    Best regards

What about CC5X it's free and does the job.
A better way to proagram is assembly ;)

Thanks for your reply. I want to program 18f2620 and it seems that cc5x
can't be used for 18XXX series. Am I right?

    Best regards

    I use Boostc.

I've been pretty happy with the results. i still use assembly for the really
    tight stuff, though.

I recommend HITECH PICC compiler and it's available
on ed2k network. You can use for example emule to connect
    ed2k network :)
