  1. So, where were you on 3/14 at 1:59?

  2. In bed asleep. ;-)

Hey, when it comes to desserts, every day is pie day! ;-)

    Cheers!

  6. Sir, I bear a rhyme excelling
In mystic force and magic spelling
    Celestial sprites elucidate
All my own striving can't relate.

Class was starting. Had half a mind to pipe up and tell the prof "happy pi
    day". ;-)

2 pi r better than 1, but pi r square is not true. But then
again, if pi is a variable, then pi r square could be true
    for some instances of pi.

  9. No sir! Pie are round. Cornbread are square.

Designing an integrator, actually. Sorry, no "P" in that loop. Was that
    a sin then?

Not after I was anywhere near that pie.

  12. Standard or Daylight Savings?

FWIW, I was sitting here at my computer, annoying people on USENET.
The TeeVee Nooz had an item on pi that evening, but nothing about
the date/time trick, just a sort of parade of pi savants quoting
thousands of digits - the winner had it memorized out to like
100,000 digits; they said it took him something like 6 hours to
    get to the 100,000th.

But, not to worry - The Ides of March are come! ("Ay, Caesar, but
    not gone!") ;-)

    Cheers!

  14. Only crappy cornbread. The good stuff is made in a large, round,
    properly seasoned cast iron skillet.

I like cornbread "sticks"... also done in a cast-iron form.

With navy bean soup and chopped onions.

    Yummy!

Made from hard pore corn, I assume.

  20. My mother had a cast iron tray that made them in the shape of a small
ear of corn I think it made eight ears at once but the very best was
when the cornbread was made like mini pancakes. Talk about plenty of
golden brown crust to soak up the soup! She also used a mix of different
beans, but mostly home grown pinto beans for her homemade "Soup beans".
