Phillips flat screen tv/dvd combo - bought it used today--worked great
for about 4-5 hurs--now power wont come on--i mean it comes on-brief
picture if any and then shuts itself off and red light on front of tv
flashes 2 quick times continuously till unplugged ...

any thoughts? any place where i can get schematics or tips to fix
this?

thanks

ibdunn:
You can get "tips to fix" results from the techs in this newsgroup but
FIRST you will have to post some basic technical troubleshooting and
testing results. Your description of the symptoms don't give enough
technical clues to pin down an exact fault.
Dust off your DMM and open up your television and proceed with your
initial basic troubleshooting and component testing.
If you are not certain how to proceed, a schematic won't be of much use
to you and maybe you should first visit the website for this newsgroup
at
http://www.repairfaq.org/
there, with some searching, you will find a wealth of troubleshooting
tips, component testing methods, repair proceedures, and IMPORTANT
SAFETY information that will help you to stay away from dangerous and
lethal electrical shock hazards inside your television, note that these
hazards can still be present even when the television is unplugged from
the AC power.... be very careful.
If, after reading through the repairfaq, you are still not certain how
to proceed you might be best advised to TAKE it to a service shop for,
at the very least, a repair cost estimate so you can make an
intelligent repair decision. .

Is the DVD player jamming mechanically? Check to see if a disc got wedged in
when the drawer closed.
