I'm not a computer person and trying to educate myself by messing with
my home PC. My task is to add another HDD and couldn't get much info
from the manufacturer about how much HDD capacity my actual BIOS can
recognize. This kind of questions I have.

I will apreciate any guidance reffered to what books to read, sites to
visit... so I can get a good start in learning about PC architecture.

    Thank you,

    Roman screamed:
What is the manufacturing date of the BIOS? Consider doing any BIOS
updates if possible. The date can be seen at bootup.
    BIOS'es before 1999 may not recognize HD's bigger than 8 or 10GB.
You want PC *repair*, probably. PC architecture is a very different
thing. I don't have links here, but Google is your friend. Search for
"installing a new HDD", "PC repair", etc...

What exactly do you want to know about? Upgading PCs, repairing PCs or

Adding a hard drive will teach you nothing of PC architecture.
