Hey I was trying to repurpose the amplifier in an old Panasonic hifi radio. I managed to get the smps main transformer started without the main board but I am having problems with the d amp board.
The device should receive a signal on mode_da from the main board to start the amp. I ended up shorting the collector and emitter on the npn transistor and i measured a voltage of 5.2v on the mode pin (23) from the class d amp ic. The problem is when the I shorted the npn transistor I measured 29.5v dc on the right channel which is the same as the input voltage.
The amplifier IC is Tda8920Bj.
Did i did something wrong and is there anyway I can repurpose this amplifier?
