    Hi,

I have read in previous threads that there are known issues with Panasonic
cordless telephone answer machines, but I still have been unable to resolve
    my problem.

I have a KX-TCD961EB which I brought over from the UK. I changed the cable
to an Oz cable (centre pair) and it all seemed to work fine, so I thought
Yahoo. I realise that this may be viewed as slightly dodgy, but I spent a
bit of money on it and additional DECT handsets and didn't want to throw it
    in the bin.

Anyway, everything was working fine until I installed ADSL. The base unit
and extensions stopped ringing and the answer machine stopped picking up,
although I can still make and receive calls without any problems. A Telstra
phone on another extension rings ok.

I did a little digging and found out that there were reported issues with
DLINK inline filters, so I duly went out and purchased a Telequip DSL002
which is apparently the one recommended by Panasonic from those nice people
    at www.oztechnologies.com

So to cut a long story short, I still have the original problem with the
phones not ringing and the answer machine doesn't pick up.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Gordon

  2. Hi Gordon,

I had a similar experience. I put another filter behind the first filter
    and this fixed the problem.

    Cheers

Yeah, some of those earlier Panasonics did indeed have a problem.

Generally the Alcatel filters seem to be the best for the Pana problem.

The Pana 7xx series of DECT cordless dont even need any filter at all,
so they have fixed the problem by including a filter in the phone base itself.

    Thats my situation atm.

Looking at the 2.8G range, whats better quality, Uniden or Panasonic?
