I measure about 125 degrees right at the vents on the hottest part of the
top of my monitor.

Owners manaul says 100 degrees for operating temperature...

Does that refer to the ambient room temperature or should I do something to
knock the temperature down inside my monitor?

Fahrenheit? Or Celsius?

Usually ambient, but if it's 100C, then it's internal.

Heyas!

Fahrenheit on both counts.
Realized as I was drifting off to sleep that I had not spec'd the scale.

If it's 125 C he's got a SERIOUS problem considering that the plastic
case would melt below that temp!

My Mag monitor puts out a lot of heat too.
Thought I'd be "smart" and fix it.
I set up a fan to blow across the top to carry
away the heat. Top of the box got cold. Cool!!
Since I _AM_ smart ;-) I put a thermocouple inisde
the box. The inside temperature WENT UP with the fan on.

So, the lesson here is, if you want to make something
cooler, be sure to measure the thing you want cooled.
