Hi guys, just stuck with the second part of the question how would I go about answering this?

feelsguy - have you an idea about the maximum possible output amplitude?

In the mark scheme it just says this as the answer

Formula
120mV
0.12V
(No unit error if obvious)

It would be better if they said the maximum voltage swing was +12V supply and not use the word ideal. Because an ideal opamp does not exist. To the extent that if one did exist it wouldn't be very long before it destroyed the planet and possibly the universe. And I am not joking.

To answer your question you need to calculate the gain of the opamp and use this to work out the maximum input voltage. The gain is one of the resistors divided by the other, see if you can work this out.

Aside from the fact that an 'ideal' op-amp does not have any limitations such as power supply voltage, for this op-amp you are expected to assume the output will provide rail-to-rail ±12V maximum while the input is amplified by a factor of ±100 (polarity of your choice). Now for the big formula: INPUTx100=±12V
