Hello,

Does anybody know where can I buy a small number of CCD image sensors
(monochrome, 1 megapixel approx., full frame, frontal illumination... my
requirements are quite flexible, as long as it is not a linear array)??? I
haven't had any luck with the folks from Sony, Kodak, and e2v technologies
so far.

I am at the point in which it'll be easier for me to design around whatever
sensor I can get, rather than selecting one from a list.

Thanks,

Considering surplus, and even new cameras are so cheap, just buy them. my
local Wal-mart has webcams at $24.00 each.

Good question, so many CCDs, so few sold at low cost in small quantities. How
about,

http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/productfolder.
jhtml?genericPartNumber=TC237&pfsection=pricing

=> TI TC237, about $26 at Avnet (in stock) for one version, 658 x 496 pixels,
progressive scan mode included.

Their TC341 => 754 x 488 pixels but do not show stock at their website.

If you can live with CMOS, National Semiconductor => 1.3Mpixel,
progressive scan, LM9638, I2C serial control interface,

http://www.newark.

jsp?id=26H4305

=> about $56 each, minimum order 5, lead time 52 days

(or about $28 each, minimum order 96, lead time 52 days)
