One cell power bank troubleshoot

Hello, im new to this forum and i hope to be part of this community share and help.

ok i have a couple of power banks that i really like to fix, maybe understand and improve design is for study ,im and IT tech with some very basic electronic but with hungry for knowlegde and i hope to find the answers that i look for in here, sorry for bad english i im self learner.

The subjet:
So this is a one cell energy bank i bought some time ago i take it aparte and teste it,measure voltages and change lithium cell. know it doest light up and charge the battery just to 2v, i also remove the leds but i think its part of the circuit i cant see the ic number i have search over the internet and it seems to be something similar to the F6316,i also see that it has very few components that sorrounds it and maybe can be improve.


I will post some images and put some data you ask i have basic equipment to measure and soder and components to change i will like to troubleshoot it in case i need to fix it again and know more about the quality and the commons faults.

You are unlikely to 'improve' the circuit. Key to its operation is the controlling IC and without reference to its datasheet you will have to reverse-engineer the board to derive a schematic.

Welcome to EP!
I agree with Kellys_eye. The IC will control/provide a converter function to boost the cell's 3.7V to 5V, It, or another IC on the cell itself, will also need to provide controlled, safe charging and discharging of the cell.

The most likely point of failure would be the IC, since it has to handle the relatively high (compared to the currents in other components) charging current and the switched current in the boost converter stage. So you'd begin by finding a source for replacement ICs. Unless you're buying thousands at a time the unit cost of the IC might be more than a replacement power bank.

ok so i put the leds back and still no light, so i change it and its blinking but i measure the cell and stays in 2.8v i think the leds are part of the charge detection.

No.

The device measures the input voltage and if it is above 4.3V it starts the charging process and pin 3 (CHRG) is pulled low, illuminating the LED.

The resistor on pin 8 (PROG) sets the charge rate.

The battery - connected to pin 5 - is monitored for its terminal voltage and charging (constant current or constant voltage) is controlled according to its needs.

If the battery isn't charging then the chip is dud.
