Odd Gameboy Advanced problem

My son's gameboy advance player is acting wierd. It has stopped
working with GBA games but still works for regular gameboy games.
I've looked for some way to reset the unit, but there is nothing
obvious. I checked in the rom slot and all connection points look ok.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, game boys don't have any sort of reset, or tech support...so
if its out of warranty, your pretty much out of luck. You can discuss it
with Nintendo, on their 1-800 line, or email them, but I doubt that will be
of any help.
Consider yourself lucky that with the new Gameboy coming out the end of
this month, the older models of Gameboys are less than $50.00 now.

Nintendo actually has quite reasonably priced repairs for out of warranty
stuff, they'll even still repair the old 8 bit NES machines. Give them a
call or email, it might be cost effective.

Good news, I found out that the newer game cartridges have a notch on
the edge, that the old ones don't have. I used a small tool and moved
the plastic lever (left hand side) out a bit inside the gameboy
advanced game slot. It works now!

Actually, they have the "Power Swap" program. You pay a certain fee and you
give your broken Nintendo product back to Nintendo and they ship you a
refurbished product of the same type and configuration as your old one. -
