Example- PUMD2. Why are such transistors used for switching ?

    As the datasheet states:
    • Simplifies circuit design
    • Low package height of 0.37 mm
    • Reduces component count
    • Reduces pick and place costs

How does it simplify circuit design ? This is what I wanted to know.

It doesn't simplify the design but the manufacturing. Place 1 component instead of 6 components onto the PCB.

Look at all of the resistors, their connections and boardspace that don't have to be made if using them.
