I wanted to know what help could I expect from this forum.

I am 66 and many years ago now used to build transistor radios and did study electronics to HNC level but this was a long time ago and I eventual went into heavy electrical engineering. So I do understand most components and to a degree the operation of simple electronic circuits. However my circuit design ability is very limited.

So would I be expecting too much to describe my small hobbyist project requirements with the purpose of someone advising on what a circuit might look like and if I did would help be forthcoming ?

cheers

Hi Nala and welcome to Electronics Point :)

We often get requests for help with projects, including modifications and design, and if we have experience in the relevant fields, we are happy to help. I have drawn up over 170 schematics - many simple, some quite complicated - since I joined in late 2011.

I guess my suggestion is one I often make: Try one, and see how it goes!

Go ahead, give it a try. Let us see what you're about to build and where we can help.

That depends on what you are going to ask...

Based on your OP, "Circuit Help" would probably be the appropriate forum.

Yeah, Circuit Help or Electronics Projects. There's a lot of overlap between those forums. If it drifts towards one or the other, we can always move it later.
