I am trying to find applications for a promising & radical new technology which was developed at the ETH in Zurich.
The technology acts as an interface between soft and hard materials. It enables you to deliberately smoothen the transition between these materials through layering of Polyurethane. Different levels of stiffness can be achieved and stress concentration can be reduced substantially.
Electronic devices integrated onto such multilayered material could be effectively protected against mechanical failure, increasing significantly their lifetime. Flexible electronics obtained through this method could be stretched up to 4.5 times their initial length without impairing the electrical response of their stiff components.
Any possible application or problem that could be solved by this technology is welcome!
