I just purchased a P3200 Panel Along with the NAPCO K4RF Keypad
w/Built-in 32-pt RF Receiver. I'm using this for all the wireless
transmitters. I'm having problems setting this up. When I first
powerup the panel and keypad, the keypad starts counting from 1-8
repeatedly until its starts beeping and the display says trouble. When
I get into the Easy Setup and try to Auto Configre the transmitters it
doesn't work. I am probably doing something wrong. I was told to get
into easy setup go to programming mode 28 hit the bypass button,
(red&green lights on keypad flash) insert battery into transmitter and
it should auto configure. I'm just trying 1 transmitter right now to
test this.

Does anyone have a step by step that is less confusing then the manuals
that come with this Panel 3200. What am I doing wrong? After I program
the 1 transmitter into the system how can I test it? I hit the reset
button twice and it resets the panel and this scenario starts all over
again with the beeping.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Where did you buy the equipment from?

You have to place 2,200-Ohm EOL resistors (three red stripes) across the
zones. Although you're using wireless transmitters for the zones it is
still necessary to do this. Also, set the on-board jumpers for zones 7 and
8 to BURG. Otherwise the panel will look for a 2-wire smoke detector on
these zones. The panel is shipped with one of these jumpers set to BURG and
the other set to 2WF. Finally, in the panel programming be sure that
niether of these zones is configured for fire alarm.
Does anyone have a step by step that is less confusing

Unfortunately, no. Napco's panels are extremely flexible. They're the most
configurable systems on the market. The down side of that is they are also
a pain to program. The dealer who sold you the panel should be able to
answer any questions you have. If they can't or won't you can call me. I'm
a Napco dealer. I can configure the panel for you by modem if you like.
There's no charge for the service.
After I program the 1 transmitter into the system how
can I test it?

Once the system is configured properly the rest will be easy.

Note to the OP....

-=BEWARE=-

If you let Robert Bass program your panel remotely he will have your master
code, account number, and monitoring station receiver number, and your name and
street address via reverse phone lookup. Even if you change your code, he can
call the panel back and learn it. This is undesirable because he is NOT a
licensed dealer in his state of Florida. He can NOT obtain a license if he
wanted to because he is a convicted FELON.

Don't Napco's have a remote programming
lockout code to prevent this?

Yep. Most clients simply turn off the auto-answer functions once the system
has been downloaded. Once that's done there's no way to do an "unattended"
download.

thought so - it'd be dumb it they didnt

Yep. I teach my clients how to program their own systems. Even when I do
it for them I still ask them to follow along in the program on their own
machines while I go through the various screens. It's far better to teach
someone how to read a map and drive than to chauffeur them to the
destination.

It's the same with Ademco panels as it is with Napco and all the other
brands I carry. Rather than say, "Push this button and that," I prefer to
explain what each feature does and why you do or don't want to use it in a
given situation.

Is this the same for the 9600 Control Panel as well? Also when you say
place these resistors across the zones what do you mean? What zones,
how do you attach? etc... Are the resistors the little wires that came
in a little bag with the control panel?

Yes.

Also when you say place these resistors across the

There are 8 hard-wired zones in the master control panel. Place EOL
resistors across their terminals.
What zones, how do you attach? etc...

Zone Terminals
1 16 & 17
2 17 & 18

3 19 & 20
4 20 & 21

etc...
Are the resistors the little wires that came
in a little bag with the control panel?

They look like little globules with three red stripes near one end. There's
a wire protruding from each end.
