So I've been looking to transmission lines, and I have been wondering, instead of CMOS, what do you think of this?

There are jfets. You need no resistor, you get zero or all voltage. So what are disadvantages of this? Space, price? In which is CMOS better than this?
P.S. Between the gate and +5V/-5V is that diode, it's not seen very well in the picture.

So, what's it supposed to do?

And why would you put a diode in series with a jfet gate. Seems to me that you might have issues due to capacitance there since it appears you're relying on the leakage through one of them to discharge it.

    Why not mosfets?

    What problem are you solving?
