New AC power cord for old Sony boom box

Hi, I have an old Sony boom box (model CFD-68) and have misplaced the
AC power cord. Was wondering if this is something I could pick up at
Radio Shack or do I have to send away to Sony for it? The receptacle
is marked "AC In", is rectangular and has two prongs in a horizontal
line. Looks like the plug end would have a smaller rectangle measuring
about 3/4" high by 1/2" wide mounted on a larger one measuring 5/8"
high by 1" wide, with two female ends. Thanks!

About the most common AC power cord ever made. Radio Shack sells them for
around $4. Your local thrift stores (Goodwill, Salvation Army, DAV) should
have mounds of them for next to nothing.

But there are sometimes slight differences in the shape or pin-spacing
of power cords, so bring the boombox with you and ask the store
associate to open the packages and let you try the cord to make sure it
fits.
Make sure the new cord presses on snugly - without having to force it,
but tight enough that it doesn't fall out by just moving the wire.
