I have a COBY MP-C827 Mp3 player that I took apart for the auxiliary jack. I can't find anything on what the jack is or how it's wired. Either the model number (so I can look up the schematic and find out how to use it) or the schematic directly would be helpful. Thanks in advanced.

I'll bet that will be FUN-FUN-FUN, on a miniaturized . . .Flash drive on steroids . . .item like that.
The only two connections I see, are a mini USB for music loading and an earphone jack . . . . . and I'm betting that either jack is a custom unit . . . . because of the very-very cramped mounting quarters.

Since you said that you "cannibalized" the unit for its original jack, can you backtrack and get that jack back for a reinstall.
Certainly that second application can use a conventional sized . . . .read as OBTAINABLE . . . jack.
