Wiring up a Solid State Relay on a common ground system to use a higher voltage on the starter. Just want to confirm I wiring this right before I start putting this together. Thanks.

Looks like it should work. Without knowing further details.

What SSR are you using?
What kind of motor?
What is written above "7.2v"?
What diode do you plan to use?

I would have drawn this in a different color, but I suppose as long as it isn't drawn in yellow I can live with it. Looks like it will work. Same caveat as @Minder.

Got a gas turbine that was designed with a 12v electrical system. I replaced it with a 7.2v xicoy setup so I got a 40a 220vdc ssr to run the starter off a 12v battery instead of using a regular relay. Using the starter connection from the ecu to drive the ssr. Because the starter, ecu, and glow plug use the engine as a ground I wanted to make sure the wiring is right before I wire it. Using a 30a 200v schottky diode on the motor I think.

Do you know what is the staring current ?
Is your SSR (which is it?) input /output isolated?

The starting current is about 18 amps but both of the negative sides on the input and output on the SSR would be connected because of the common ground on the starter and the ecu
