    Hello all,

I have searched high and low, and hopefully someone here can help me out.

    Heres the Background:
I have cobra radio and helmet headset with a mic. the headset has an optional hookup that lets you add an ipod. with this switch off just the 2way will be in the headset, with the switch on it bleeds both sound sources into the headphones causing i to be hard to hear either.

    this is what i want.

The ipod to be a constant sound normally. when my friend tries to contact me on the radio i want the headphones to automatically switch over from the ipod to the 2way. and not bleed both through. then when i am done receiving the transmission (2way silence) automatically switch back to the ipod input.

also want this unpowered if possible.

I think it is possible with the use of transistors, but not 100% sure

    Cheers,
    Todd

    Hi Todd,

You can use a Voice-Activated Switch / VOX (just google that). You need to pick-up the existing microphone signal and to connect a relay in the heaphone path.
