hi,
i need a circuit that can drive EL7104 laser driver ic. i have tried a circuit available in the datasheet of EL7104, but couldn't get the result.

any help will be appreciated.

thanks

ummmm.... I'm a little confused ... the data sheet for the EL7104 doesnt say anything about it being a laser driver ??? maybe you had better show us the cct that you were trying to build with it :)

EL7104 is used as mosfet laser diode driver. i'm using it for driving SPL LL90 laser diode.

ok again I ask you to show us the cct diag for what you are trying to do
then one of us may be able to see where you are going wrong :)

there is no sample cct in the datasheet for driving a laser diode
laser diodes generally have very specific voltage and current requirements that are normally handled by IC's designed for that purpose

Cheers

hi,
this is the complete circuit diagram that i have patched on patch board.

I think what Davenn is asking for (and what I'd like to see too) is a reference that shows this device being used to drive a laser diode.

It doesn't seem to be designed for doing this. I'm not surprised it doesn't work. You're basically giving it a voltage source with a small series resistance.

Do you have the specs for the laser diode either? It should tell you how to drive it.

Or is this possibly a laser diode MODULE that you're driving?

I also don't see how you get those waveforms you have drawn on your diagram.

Yep, great circuitsfan. But it doesn't show it being used to drive a laser diode, does it?
