need help about pointers

    Hi Experts......!!
    i want to learn pointer.i google it but i cant search codes for beginners to understand as am new with pointer.
    i have no idea how to use it in PIC programming.
    specially for LCD.i also want to know what is the advantage of pointer over array.

    please help me in good manners via code.

    am using C language and MPLAB IDE 8.60.C18 compiler.

    Have you read K&R or another C primer? This is not a subject easily covered in a forum.

    ok forgive my ignorance but what are pointers? the only thing I think of is a mouse pointer

    we use in coding to avoid from writing many line.
    in few lines we can write the whole code but i dont know how to use it.

    i dont know how to use it in PIC programming..
    if someone help me.
