need GE dryer timer

I've got a perfectly good older GE dryer in which the timer motor has burned
out (coil reads open). A new timer is $75, but I know there has to be
someone out there with a dead dryer and perfectly good timer motor. The
motor is made by Eaton and is rated 1/45th RPM, CW rotation. Anybody have
suggestions where I could find one? I called a local appliance shop and they
won't sell used parts because they can't warranty them, if the part is cheap
I'm willing to take a gamble, I hate to scrap the whole dryer but I can get
another comparable one for less than what the part costs.

Dumpster diving? I don't think I'm likely to find a whole dryer in a
dumpster and I doubt the timer is removed when most are crushed for scrap
metal. I was hoping someone might know of a dealer somewhere with a decent
stock of used parts.

Actually there is one in Anchorville, Michigan who makes a rather fine
living repairing used appliances and is a great source for second hand
components, inclusive of switches, timers, motors, transmissions, etc. At
one time his major source of items was a route of the burbs picking up items
set out by the dumpsters. That is the connection intended, yes they mostly
were complete items!! Corner of Beuthy Road and M-29, just east of the city
of New Baltimore, on Anchor Bay. Sorry but I do not have their tx handy,
maybe a yellow pages search will suffice.
