I took this from a sat receiver's board with the following markings:
GI DCT2000 PH7 MB
240684-028-99-RA
Made in Taiwan: WWEI 2MV 94V-0

The metal casing had a little rust and, after slowly cleaning it, it shows partial information as shown in the attached photo. If, in the case someone has access to a top view for the board, the device is located near a corner where you've a coaxial conn.: between F801 & R845 components.

If this component is what I hope it is then I would like to start a hobbie project for a home-made radio... Thanks in advanced for your help on this!IMG_20200422_115045.jpg

Hello,

Also a picture of the top of the device is welcome.
There might be an indication for the manufacturer on top.

Thanks for replying, bertus & Harald Kapp!

I'm including the requested photos up there, hope they help.

Note: Spent more than an hour trying to locate a suitable place with adecuate illumination where I could mantain a firm position against the wind... Sorry, the tablet's camera doesn't help neither.i

Hello,

Do you have a picture of top of the part you removed?

Referring to the photo of the whole decrepid chassis . . .drop to the bottom right for seeing the whole tuner mounted there, with its ¿ RG59 ? input connector on the right.
Then look to the center of the tuner and if that unit came from the area just below, with the vacated holes there.
That is being the . . . . .SWIF . . . . .and its nearby associative IF processing I.C. that the tuner outputs into.

OBSERVATION . . . . . .your envirions seem to make a "rust bucket " out of any and everything around . . .quick time !

Is this being the unit . . . ? . . . . . probably a basic General Instruments design unit . . . .

Hello,

That picture is useless.
There is nothing to see on the part.
Can you use the macro or zoom fuction of the camera?
My phone has a zoom function that works quite well.

Sorry for that! After using a good magnifying glass & cleaning ~ a dz times I managed to extract the info on the first post attachment of this thread. I tried to manage zoom & illumination before taking that photo but thought it was useless: that's why I chose to make a diagram with proper scale included. The boards' proper id is written as well, above. Think there's not much more for me to include!

Thanks for this; quite similar!

Edit: All the information I could read from the part was T 1AF PN (on top) & - FB2SM (on bottom). I must make it clear that I cannot be 100% sure those figures/symbols are correct because I had to play many different angles and lighting for making sense of the most of the time partial characters there...
