Need 12VAC wall transformer for Singapore

I'm searching for a source for 12VAC 500mA wall transformers (that is, "wall
warts" or "AC adapters"), with 230V input and UK-style prongs (UK-style is
what they use in Singapore, where this needs to end up). Output needs to be
5.5mm x 2.5mm coax connector. Note this is AC output, not DC!

I'm based in the USA. But ideally, I'd like to find a source for these
adapters in Singapore - that way, I can just ship my product to the
Singapore distributor without the AC adapter, and he can purchase and stock
the adapters himself. Sourcing from China might also work.

Quantities very small - 10 or so at a time.

If anyone can point me to some Singapore-based distributors of these
adapters I'd be grateful. I did find RS and Farnell but neither seem to
stock AC-to-AC adapters, just AC-to-DC.

Thanks!

Well........ there are literally hundreds of companies making such things in the
region.

Why don't you liaise with your Singapore distributor to find a local source
they're happy with ?

'cuz my Singapore distributor knows about music stuff, not electronics
stuff. He's just a little one-man music store. He did give me the
equivalent of a yellow pages search, and if that's the best I can do it's
what I'll work with, but I was hoping that maybe somebody in that area who
actually does electronics might have a reference for me.

In the USA, I buy them from Jameco. Wish I could use 12VDC, they're trivial
to find. 12VAC is harder.

Does your kit develop multiple voltage rails like both +ve and -ve from
the incoming AC? If not, then a DC supply will work without worring about
polarity 'cos your rectifier will sort that out. The penalty is the
rectifier's
voltage loss.

Can you not use DC ?

If you are after small quantities, just send your distributor to Sim
Lim Tower, Sim Lim Square, or Jalan Besar Plaza. There are hundreds of
electronics vendors there.

Thanks, Franc. I'll pass that info on to him and see if he can get what he
needs - sounds like a good answer.
