I have a year 2000 NEC FE950. It has been good until now. Lately i have
noticed lines flickering across the screen (random). and the bottom tool bar
is shrinking till it dispappears. The shrinking is from the bottom and moves
about 1/2" upwards. the windows "start' button becomes unavailable. There is
also an intense white light coming from this action (perhaps damaging to the
phosphour). I moved the FE950 to my other computer and the problem is still
there. I am now using my 10 year old 17" MAG monitor.

The problem is I really like the color of the NEC product,I paid a lot of
money for it and I would like to keep using it.

Any help would be greatly apreciated

Thankyou

This is most likely some component(s) in the vertical deflection area that
are failing. The NEC authorized service people can repair this for you. One
of the most common causes of failure are electrolytic capacitors. It is also
possible to have cold solder connections, and other types of parts failing
as well.

This is not something you can fix yourself unless properly equipped and
trained.
